Vegan wines are a step in the right direction. Thanks to modern technology, it is no longer necessary to clarify the wine using traditional animal-derived byproducts. During cultivation and harvesting, grapes used for both conventional and vegan winemaking do not differ. It is only during the production process, more precisely after fermentation (alcoholic fermentation), that the decision is made whether the grapes will be turned into a vegan product.
The V-Label of the European Vegetarian Union: As a recognized and internationally protected brand, it serves as a reliable guide for consumers. Only red, rosé, and white wines that do not use animal-derived ingredients and additives can carry the label.
